Beaches, spas, festivals, and golf are just a few of the joys to experience when buying a property to live in Los Alcazares. Settled on the west side of Mar Menor, Europe’s largest saltwater lagoon, Los Alcazares is a beautiful coastal town enjoyed by locals and tourists, alike. In fact, Los Alcazares was the chosen location for the 2008 film The Garden of Eden, based on the novel by Ernest Hemingway.

The former fishing town is easily accessible by all modes of travel – air, bus, train, and automobile. The closest airports are San Javier, a 30-minute drive, and Alicante, 60 minutes by car. Visitors and locals will conveniently find markets, health care, and hospitals close to the town.

Situated on the Mediterranean, inhabitants of Los Alcazares, Murcia, Costa Calida enjoy mild winters and hot and sunny summers! During the year, Los Alcazares experiences little rainfall – only about 302mm annually - we all need a bit of rain here and there. While the weather is mostly pleasant year-round, May and October offer the best beach days, with temperatures usually at 28-32 degrees, and water temperatures in the low-to-mid 20s. Los Alcazares sees 3,000 hours of sunshine each year – plenty of time to take a dip in Europe's largest saltwater lagoon, the Mar Menor.

This giant pool-like sea is filled with highly saturated saltwater, which is said to have relaxing and healing qualities.

After enjoying a day at the beach, a walk down the promenade can be enjoyed to experience the numerous shops, restaurants, and bars found in Los Alcazares. In addition to the local Spanish cuisine, there are a wide variety of restaurants serving food of all kinds. Mediterranean, Indian, Italian, British, Chinese – dishes for every craving! For those wanting to keep the party going after dinner, Los Alcazares has a bustling nightlife with a bar to suit every atmosphere.
